GGLS John Haines Tintern Abbey

I've been gathering some history of Golden Gate Live Steamers locomotives. I did an Internet search for 'John Haines Tintern Abbey' and found a recent video which had some history on the locomotive in the 'Description" area as well (video upload dated 12/24/2023). That got me to dig out some video from twenty-four years ago, the GGLS 2005 Spring Meet, where John was running his locomotive. 'History makes you smart. Heritage makes you proud.'

Golden Gate Live Steamer's Golden Spike Ceremony held on September 2, 1950. The actual driving of the golden spike starts at 07:14. In 1950 there was elevated track only (2-1/2", 3-1/2", and 4-3/4" gauges); the ground track wouldn't go in until 1963-ish. Tilden Little Train Winterfest 2018

This is the fifth year that the Tilden's Little Train (a.k.a., the Redwood Valley Railway or RVRy) has set up for Winterfest! The two weekends prior to Christmas, live steam locomotives chug around the track from 11am to 7pm. That means almost two hours of operation after dark. And around 4pm, they add a third steam engine to the scene! What a winter wonderland!
